What’s included

Every AC repair includes the following, no surcharges, no surprise line items.

  • Capacitor, contactor, and compressor diagnostics on the first visit
  • Refrigerant leak testing with actual soap + electronic detection
  • R-22 restrictions explained honestly before we quote a refill
  • We service all brands, not just the ones we install

Not cooling? The three most likely causes

Capacitor (blown, bulging, or out-of-tolerance). Easiest fix, cheapest part, single most common summer AC failure we see. Contactor (stuck or pitted). Second most common. Low refrigerant from a leak. If your system won’t hold charge we’ll find the leak (soap bubble + electronic detection) before we recharge. Topping off a leaking system is how you waste your money all summer.

Icing up?

Frozen evaporator coils usually mean a dirty filter, low refrigerant, or a failing blower. We thaw the coil, diagnose the root cause, and repair what’s actually wrong. If your last tech just added refrigerant and sent you home, you’ll see us for the same issue in 6 weeks.

R-22 (old refrigerant) systems

If your AC is R-22 and has a refrigerant leak, the honest conversation is about replacement. R-22 is phased out, and recharging a leaking R-22 system is rarely worth it for most leaks. We’ll quote both: repair vs. replacement with a modern R-410A or A2L-compliant system.

Why Reinhart

What sets this AC repair job apart.

  • Capacitor, contactor, and refrigerant diagnostics on the first visit. Most summer calls done in one trip.

  • Leak tests before refills. We don't top off a leaking system and send you home.

  • R-22 math delivered straight. Repair or replace, here's the honest path.

  • We diagnose first, then quote the repair in writing before any work starts.

Frequent questions

AC repair, quick answers.

Turn the system off. Let it thaw (2–4 hours). Change the air filter if it's been a while. Then call us. We'll diagnose the underlying cause so it doesn't keep happening.
Varies a lot. Capacitors wear down over 5–10 years in normal use. Voltage swings from storms kill them early, so a surge protector on the outdoor unit is cheap insurance.
Depends on the system. On an R-410A system under 10 years old, usually yes. On R-22 or a 15+ year old system, often replacement pencils out better. We'll walk you through it.
